Montgomery County’s 129 coaches earned an average salary of $57,201 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 10th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Alabama post-secondary schools during 2022.

Montgomery County is home to four post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Alabama State University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $69,558.

Male coaches of men's teams received $63,704 on average in Montgomery County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $45,366.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
